The impoundments (or dams) that dot the north as well as central Queensland offer some barramundi fishing excitement that is quite unique. These are stocked fisheries, where the barra has a relatively more gentle life and where the comparative availability of food turns them into impoundment barramundi monsters!
Each Dam has a master approach all of its own – let the one who has spent much of his time fishing there guide you how.
Luke’s largest impoundment barra is a whopping 136cm caught at Tinaroo Dam in the Tablelands behind Cairns.
